OFDA 2017 Legislative Update - Looking Back on the Year

As we head into the final month of the 2017 congressional session, let's take a moment and recap the priorities and success OFDA had.

It has not been a “typical” year in Washington. Regardless of one’s feelings about the President, he has shaken things up a bit. Washington tends to move at a methodical pace. Big ticket issues such as healthcare, tax reform, and infrastructure are always at the top of the agenda, but it’s never really been expected that all three of these major initiatives like this could realistically cross the President’s desk in his first year, until this year. President Trump has Capitol Hill moving at warp speed, which has been both good and bad for OFDA. As we head into the final month of the 2017 congressional session, I wanted to take a moment and recap for you our priorities and the success we had.

  • Defeated Increase to Overtime Rules
  • Association Health Plans (AHP’s)
  • Estate Tax Relief
  • Pass-Through Businesses
  • Expansion of Section 179 Expensing
  • Reopening of Schedule 75
  • Amazon Online Marketplace

Keep an eye out for the 2017 Dealers' Choice Survey, opening January 2018

Opening in January, the Dealers’ Choice are based on a structured dealer participative-poll measuring six functional areas of manufacturer performance for a diverse cross-section of dealers throughout North America. The award program recognizes those manufacturers delivering the most consistent and effective overall support to dealers in each of following categories:

  • Casegoods
  • Filing
  • Seating
  • Storage
  • Tables
  • Workstations/Systems
