OFDAxml Standards
The Data Standards Initiative of the OFDA Technology Committee
Through the work of its four working subcommittees -- Catalog Data, Order Data, Graphics and Best Practices -- the Technology Committee is on a mission to migrate from the current SIF text standard and create a new, open XML (extensible markup language) standard for the office furniture industry: OFDAxml.
The new OFDAxml industry standard will provide a technology umbrella for sustained schema development and offers a unified way of communicating information throughout the entire order fulfillment process: from the publishing of manufacturer catalogs to the placing and shipping of customer orders.
The OFDAxml standard will enable office furniture manufacturers and dealers of all sizes to transparently handle all aspects of their business communications far more effectively and productively. With OFDAxml as a common protocol, business partners can easily share information and conduct transactions online, driving down costs and reducing errors and lag-time.
