Affordable Interior Systems, Inc. (AIS)   2011 Gold Non-aligned Manufacturer of the Year
Affordable Interior Systems began in 1990. In the beginning, we were strictly a supplier of remanufactured office workstations. Our goal was simple. We wanted to meet the need for a high-quality, affordable alternative to the leading brands.  Demand for our low-cost approach was high. It wasn’t long before we had expanded our operation and were handling all of the steps in the remanufacturing process. As the market evolved, AIS evolved with it. By 1996 we had shifted our focus to the production of our own brand of workstations. Fueled by demand for high-value office furniture solutions, we quickly became one of the top manufacturers of new products for the New England market.

Berco, Inc.
Berco was founded in 1969 by Melvin J. Berkowitz.  Mel had a deep belief that the success of Berco began with the design integrity of our tables.  He felt that the more emphasis that was placed on the manufacturing process and design would insure that our tables were, without question, the bestmade in the industry.  Mel also listened to our customers and as a result, new products were the direct result of their input.

Concept Seating, Inc.
In the late 1980s, a police officer who suffered from back problems, designed and produced rough sketches of a new, innovative vehicle seat that helped relieve back problems. From there, the police officer, in combination with renowned Wisconsin industrial designer Brooks Stevens Design firm, took on the project and finessed the design. The Brooks Stevens Design firm is also known for designs including: Hiawatha Train (1946), Excalibur Sports Car (1964) and the Oscar Mayer Weiner Mobile (1958). Concept Seating designs have also been influenced by the innovative research presented by Alvin R. Tilley and Henry Dreyfuss and Associates in The Measure of Man and Woman. The book remains an important tool for those designing products to accommodate the human form. In 1991, Concept Seating opened its doors.
